Story telescope v1 · 7 Nov 2026
Every story printed in at least two newspapers of this archive, 1770–1810, as a star.
How to read it. Left to right is the date a story was first printed. Up and down is the average latitude of the towns whose papers printed it, north at the top (scattered slightly, by up to a tenth of a degree, so stories printed by the same papers don't stack into one line). Bigger, brighter stars were printed in more newspapers. Scroll or pinch to zoom, drag to move through time, and click a star to open it in the pulse view with its printings and passages.
